Officers in the City of Greenfield are responsible for the protection of life and property; for the prevention, detection, and investigation of crime; and for maintaining law and order. Assignments are carried out in accordance with established rules, procedures, statutes, and judicial decisions. However, employees must be able to act without direct supervision in emergencies and unusual situations. Work is reviewed through reports, inspections, and observation.
